Powder Puff Football!!
March 30, 2009 - by Fara FioreIt's the first week back since Spring Break and the work is definitely piling up for me. All the classes I didn't have midterms in before Spring Break, I now have midterms in. Preparing for these while preparing for Initiation in my sorority was difficult this week. Fortunately, Student Government Association planned an event called Powder Puff Football for the end of the week. This was a huge stress reliever for me! If you don't already know, powder puff football is when the girls play football and the guys either coach or cheer on the sidelines. We had many different people from different organizations come to help out. A lot of the guys form the fraternities came to cheer us on as well as help us out. My position was blocking our quarterback, since I can't throw or catch! Student Government has been puttin on events all month for Women's History Month. Many speakers have come as well as fun activities planned, such as the powder puff game. Although my team lost, it was still fun to have something to do on campus that wasn't work or stress related. A great accomplishment that I am proud to be able to talk about is the Initiation of our new members into Phi Sigma Sigma this week. Being a new sorority, it was the first time we were able to go through this ceremony and put it on ourselves! I am extremely proud of our girls and can not wait to see what they bring in the future!
